Something to cater for everyone’s tastes!

Moving on to Food and Drink .. after a damp and windy morning start, the weather cleared and the market soon became packed-out with visitors as you can see!

After dark: jazz ad rock complete the day

Now that’s my cup of tea!

Despite a bitterly cold evening, many shoppers were still out and about the busy center of Cottingham this evening – and the lights were looking as splendid as ever!

As ever, we take a slightly philosophical and seasonal editorial slant … to provoke thought

As you can see, this year we’ve got a better camera!

Older Calendars than the Gregorian Calendar – we use today in The Christian West at least – were based on the cycles of the Moon and many were steeped in superstition! But one would make a mistake to generalize and sensationalize too much! Dan Brown in his book “The da Vinci Code” used a writers technique of divide and conquer (binary) analysis based on historical research taken at face-value to make statements and assertions that were not derived from a full historical analysis and he was accused of over-simplifying and adding cause and effect to create sensationalism. His books do make terrific reading however – and the films are great too!

The scientist in me asserts that all religion and superstition are based on a different foundation from today’s ‘rational’ reality – albeit commercialized.

Are you willing to believe a bit at Christmas?

What do you think? or .. what do you believe?
